What is a Building Energy Rating?

A Building Energy Rating (or BER for short) is a rating of the Building's Energy efficiency. There are many factors that are used to calculate this rating

• Quality of Windows and Doors
• Space & Water Heating Solutions
• Lighting
• Ventilation
• Renewable Energy Sources

Dwelling Survey

During the dwelling survey, our team need to

• Measure the internal floor & wall area and ceiling height of the property
• Measure all windows & doors & indentify the specification of these
• Identify the type of Space & Water Heating Systems as well as their controls to allow efficiency calculations
• Measure effect of Renewable Energy Sources, such as Solar PV, Thermal Solar etc.
• Identify Lighting Solutions

Once all data is captured in the dwelling, our engineer will then work on the various calculations & use these to complete the assessment which leads to the publication of the BER Certificate as well as the Advisory Report.
